siglo XX las personas de este territorio empezaron a practicar algunas actividades recreativas y f\u00edsicas, como: equitaci\u00f3n, pesca, tenis, caza, b\u00e9isbol, golf, giras tur\u00edsticas, juegos de mesa, yatismo, voleibol y baloncesto. \u00c9sta era la situaci\u00f3n antes de 1959, en su gran mayor\u00eda todos estos deportes eran practicados por norteamericanos que viv\u00edan en la Isla en ese momento.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Hasta esta fecha, ning\u00fan deportista de Isla de Pinos hab\u00eda participado en competencias internacionales, excepto en los Juegos Centro Americanos de M\u00e9xico en 1926, d\u00f3nde Tom\u00e1s Baldomero Minguill\u00f3n Ortiz nacido en Nueva Gerona, Isla de Pino, hijo de un teniente jubilado del ejercicio espa\u00f1ol, casado con una negra criolla; integr\u00f3 el equipo de b\u00e9isbol cubano como pitche, alcanzando una medalla de oro.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Al crearse el Instituto Nacional de Deportes, Educaci\u00f3n F\u00edsica y Recreaci\u00f3n (INDER), el 23 de febrero de 1961. Isla de Pinos, al igual que las restantes provincias del pa\u00eds, poco a poco fue surtida de material deportivo, libros y folletos que permit\u00edan la actualizaci\u00f3n y preparaci\u00f3n del personal encargado de desarrollar esta actividad. Se crea la Direcci\u00f3n Municipal de Deporte y se organiza el movimiento deportivo en el territorio con la atenci\u00f3n en actividades sistem\u00e1ticas de educaci\u00f3n f\u00edsica escolar y de adultos.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>A finales de 1964, el INDER lanza la convocatoria para la formaci\u00f3n de instructores de deporte en la escuela anexa al Fajardo, donde se titular\u00edan, pues exist\u00edan muy pocos profesores que impartieran sus conocimientos al naciente deportivo cubano.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>En el municipio se puede hablar de participaci\u00f3n masiva del deporte a partir de 1967 en el nivel social y m\u00e1s tarde se inicia en el nivel escolar unido al desarrollo del plan de escuelas en el campo en 1972, entre los que se encuentran:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>* Juegos escolares nacionales.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>* Olimpiadas Juveniles.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>* Eventos nacionales de primera categor\u00eda: b\u00e9isbol, futbol y boxeo.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>En 1975, el municipio comienza a enviar los primeros j\u00f3venes pineros a graduarse como profesores de Educaci\u00f3n F\u00edsica y dentro de estos los nuevos especialistas en lucha, lo que aseguraba la formaci\u00f3n de entrenadores oriundos del territorio y no tener que depender de los servicios de los t\u00e9cnicos de La Habana.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Se crean instituciones en diferentes lugares de la Isla, como los combinados deportivos que constituyen la base de la formaci\u00f3n deportiva, combinando la actividad f\u00edsica deportiva con la educaci\u00f3n, y se estimula a la poblaci\u00f3n en general en competiciones locales y otras de relevancia nacional e internacional con el objetivo del desarrollo del deporte en el Municipio. En estos combinados, es donde se forman y canalizan de acuerdo a sus aptitudes f\u00edsicas los futuros deportistas cubanos.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Constantemente se realizan en el \u00e1mbito local torneos y competencias de distintas disciplinas deportivas a nivel educativo de primaria, secundaria y universitaria; \u00edntercentros laborales; locales; municipales y nacionales. Los mejores son integrados en la representatividad nacional para competencias internacionales. Los deportes practicados son muy variados, teniendo preferencia el b\u00e9isbol, softball, atletismo, futbol, lucha, judo, voleibol, canotaje, boxeo, gimn\u00e1stica, pesa, nataci\u00f3n, ajedrez, etc.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>No todo han sido luces en el deporte pinero, incuestionablemente cuenta con un potencial humano muy positivo que responde a las mayores exigencias con grandes sacrificios y abnegaci\u00f3n, ofreciendo generosamente todo su tiempo a una actividad que conlleva a disfrutar y entretener a una poblaci\u00f3n local, creando una relaci\u00f3n educativa-deportiva en una actividad sana, mediante el esp\u00edritu de solidaridad por los instructores deportivos y atletas.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Las sombras influyen negativamente y hacen decaer la estimulaci\u00f3n a los instructores y deportistas a continuar su carrera deportiva. Las instalaciones deportivas construidas, en su inmensa mayor\u00eda no existe un mantenimiento continuo de las mismas (excepto el estadio Crist\u00f3bal Labra), algunas se deterioran tanto que requieren una costosa nueva inversi\u00f3n para su rehabilitaci\u00f3n, otras se abandonan totalmente y nunca m\u00e1s son utilizadas para el objetivo creado.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Otro factor muy negativo, es la falta de implementos deportivos para el desarrollo de otros deportes que muy bien pudieran implantarse.
